KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital (KPJ APSH) is governed by KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJHB), the healthcare division of Johor Corporation, which currently owns and manages 25 hospitals in Malaysia and abroad.

KPJ APSH is the first purposed built hospital in the Group.

KPJ APSH is built on a 5.35-acres land with a total build-up area of 330,000 square feet. Its construction began in November 1993 and handed over to the management of KPJHB in March 1995. It was designed by an international architect to bring quality healthcare nearer to our clients. KPJ APSH is strategically located with easy access from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. KPJ APSH was opened to public on June 15, 1995 and officially launched on March 30, 1996.

KPJ APSH has a reputable team of more than 60 residents, sessional and visiting medical consultants who are well qualified and experienced in their respective fields. The consultant teams are backed and supported by more than 800 staff which comprised of dedicated nursing and paramedical staff in all disciplines of medicine areas such as cardiac and neurosurgical services and supporting staff from various areas. All the Medical Consultants, nurses and paramedical staff are carefully selected for their professional expertise and commitment to deliver personalized services. With over 200 beds, patients can enjoy the privacy and comfort of a premier specialist hospital run by expert managerial and medical staff committed to the well-being and recovery of patients.

KPJ APSH is fully accredited by Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), designed to bring quality healthcare closer to public and is the 1st private hospital to achieve full accreditation status by MSQH for the 5th consecutive 3-year term 2012-2015. KPJ APSH successfully achieved the first Malaysia and Asia Pacific for the international Integrated Management System (IMS) Certification by TUV Rheinland Group, comprising of ISO 9001:2008 Quality System, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

On top of that, KPJ APSH has earned the 2nd cycle of the JCI Audit 5th Edition (2015-2018). The first JCI accreditation title was received in 2012 (2012-2015). Accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI), the worldwide leader in improving the quality of healthcare. The checklist includes over 350 standards covering from surgical, hygiene, and anaesthesia procedures to the system in place to credential medical staff and nurses.

Putting emphasis on patient-centred care, KPJ Ampang Puteri has taken up the Planetree program; a not for profit organization that partners with healthcare organizations around the world to transform how care is delivered. Guided by 10 components of patient centred care, Planetree is positioned to represent the patient voice and advance how caregivers engage with patients and families. KPJ Ampang Puteri received "Planetree Affiliated" status for actively practicing the 10 components, which are : human Interactions, human touch, nutrition & nurturing, healthy community, architecture & design, information and education, healing arts, social support, complimentary therapy & spirituality

KPJ APSH also has achieved the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification by Lloyd's Quality Assurance Ltd for food safety. As part of improvement process that focuses on workplace safety and promoting a culture of order, KPJ APSH is the first hospital awarded with 5S certification (Quality Environment) by Malaysia Productivity Corporation in November 2008. In addition, KPJ APSH is certified as a Baby Friendly Hospital (BFH) by Ministry of Health since July 2006.
